New PMBus+ Spec Includes Dedicated AVS Bus

描述：The PMBus Working Group has announced a revision to the PMBus open-standard digital power management protocol. A key feature of the new PMBus+ V1.3 spec will be the inclusion of a dedicated Adaptive Voltage Scaling (AVS) bus to control processor voltages statically and dynamically. Adaptive-voltage scaling is a closed-loop real-time feedback voltage control system that can handle process and temperature variation between devices to continuously update the voltage requested from the power supply, thus offering significant potential power consumption savings. This feature is expected to have broad implications for manufacturers of FPGAs, ASICs, SoCs, and processors in the networking, communications, and computing markets.
