"The Industrial Computer Market in China is the best ticket for double digit growth in the embedded space for 2006"
——John Reardon, CEO and Founder, The RTC Group

Dear Colleague,

During a single visit to Washington D.C. in the month of April, China’s leadership committed to $4.4 Billion in contracts in the hopes of modernizing industrial concerns within their country. Only a single example of how this growing giant hopes to work with its largest trading partner, the United States, reflecting the opportunity of the market.

China is the seventh largest economy in the world with an economy of $2.26 trillion and more than 1.3 billion people. These numbers have caused vendors to pause, but coupled with their size and rate of growth—nearly 14% last quarter—alarms are going off throughout every marketing department.

The Industrial Computer Market in China is the best ticket for double digit growth in the Embedded space for 2006. The zero sum gain of trying to unseat the incumbent in either North America or Europe has left larger companies tripping over themselves to get into what has been coined the "Emerging Markets".

The RTECC event will afford companies of any size the opportunity to create a “beach head” in a market that will have board rooms revising sales projections—a market that is thirsty for the here and now.

John Reardon CEO, The RTC Group

For many, doing business in China seems difficult and potentially more of a headache than a benefit. The RTC Group has teamed up with a local partner in China, ChinaECNet to provide the familiar event formula with an increased emphasis on meeting the challenges specific to doing business in China. Just like our events in North America and Europe we are uniquely focused on the issue that matters most to you— Delivering focused and qualified sales leads that put you closer to closing the deal.

Who is ChinaECNet?
If you don’t know them already, you will surely know them as China becomes a part of your future. ChinaECNet is the leading independent marketing services company in China. They host the largest e-commerce site for electronics throughout China; they host numerous events and publish magazines and directories covering an array of application segments.

Founded by Dr. Wayne Chow in 2000, the company has seven regional offices supporting the major economic zones within China. ChinaECNet has significant clout with ties to ministries and government officials and a staff of over 125 associates to assure effective execution.

We have found there are many concerns with small and medium sized businesses interested in, but wary of China.

Here are some answers to just a few of those questions.

Why should a small company stretch to serve China?
In North America and Europe, the growth of the entire market is arguably zero. To unseat the incumbent can take a Herculean effort. China, on the other hand, has a thirst to solve problems faced elsewhere years ago and is very receptive to solutions addressing their challenges.

Is there a concern with Piracy?
Trademarks, patents, and copyright issues are always a concern with the “frontier”, but with recent court rulings, China has shown a crack down on these issues with heavy fines.

After doing the events, how do I support the sale?
Communication mediums such as VoIP have come a long way and are easily accomplished. In addition, the RTECC events will be hosting many local agents [mfg. rep/dist.] that can bridge language and cultural barriers. Let us help you network.

What are the industries most in need of embedded products?
The same market segments addressed in the West reside in China. Industrial Control such as robotics, automation and manufacturing continue to dominate the headlines as they take advantage of low-cost labor. But infrastructure concerns like telecom, transportation and medical are in the fore front as well.

Are military embedded products welcome?
There are issues with defense-related electronics that fall under ITAR (Military) regulations. It is recommended that you review these regarding your products and services prior to committing.
