中国电信集团
中国电信集团公司是按国家电信体制改革方案组建的特大型国有通信企业，于2002年5月重组挂牌成立。原中国电信划分南、北两个部分后，中国电信下辖21个省级电信公司，拥有全国长途传输电信网70%的资产，允许在北方十省区域内建设本地电话网和经营本地固定电话等业务。重组后的中国电信集团公司由中央管理，是经国务院授权投资的机构和国家控股的试点。资产和财务关系在财政部实行单列。中国电信集团公司注册资本1580亿元人民币。目前主要经营国内、国际各类固定电信网络设施，包括本地无线环路；基于电信网络的语音、数据、图象及多媒体通信与信息服务；进行国际电信业务对外结算，开拓海外通讯市场；经营与通讯及信息业务相关的系统集成、技术开发、技术服务、信息咨询、广告、出版、设备生产销售和进出口、设计施工等业务；并根据市场发展需要，经营国家批准或允许的其他业务。中国电信集团公司继续拥有“中国电信”的商誉和无形资产。
中国电信集团公司下设21个省级企业。集团公司与21个省级企业是既以资本为纽带、又以网络和业务为纽带的母子公司关系。中国电信集团公司的成立，标志着中国电信业进入了健康发展的新阶段。

Limited is an oversized state-owned communication enterprise, which
was built according to the national telecommunications system reform
scheme and was founded in May, 2002. After original China Telecom
was divided into northern and southern parts, now China Telecom
governs 21 province-class telecommunications companies, holds 70%
assets of national long-distance transmission telecommunications
network and allows to build local telephone network and to implement
local fixed telephone and other services within 10 northern provinces.
The reconstructed China Telecom is administrated by the central
government and is an organization authorized by State Council P.R.
China and a state dominated share holding experimental unit. Its
assets and finance are listed in Ministry of Finance independently.
The registered capital of China Telecom Corporation Limited is 158
billion RMB. At present, its services range from domestic to international
fixed telecommunications network equipments, including local wireless
loops. It also offers voice, data, image and multimedia communications
and information services based on the telecommunications network.
