For
over two decades, the annual Flat Information Display
Conference (FID Conference) has always been the global
top informative event for FPD industry. On March 16
to 17 2005, the FID Conference will be held in Shanghai,
China for the second time as China is becoming the world’s
largest flat panel display market. This conference is sponsored
by iSuppli, ChinaECNet, China Video Industry Association (CVIA)
and Messe Muenchen International (MMI, the organizer of electronica
China & Productronica China).
iSuppli forecasts
that the global electronic display industry will exceed $100
million mark in 2007. Demand for displays comes from all major
electronics application segments.
China already holds
a key position in global display industry. The ongoing displacement
of CRTs by LCD technology in the desktop PC monitor market
has created a high level of demand for Original Design Manufacturers
(ODMs) that are manufacturing in China. A key question for
Chinese companies is whether they can be competitive with
incumbent panel makers in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Chinese
companies are well positioned to take advantage of the continued
growth of the display industry. How this might happen will
be a topic of discussion at FID Conference 2005.
This event will
be featured with a number of important subjects. They include
the global and China FPD market trending, emerging display
technologies, the rise of DTV market in China and new FPD
electronic components technology applications. A round table
discussion will also be held in conjunction with the symposium
which will provide a face to face discussion among global
FPD analysts, component suppliers, FPD manufacturers and FPD
users.
“As a major national
event for the dynamic China FPD industry, the FID conference
has received a wide range of supports from the Chinese government
and the local manufacturing industries. It is expected to
be a high level industry event which will not only address
the current critical issues, but to provide solutions to the
rapid growth of China’s FPD industry”, said Wayne Chao,
CEO of ChinaECNet.
“iSuppli follows
the Chinese display industry closely, and we are pleased to
bring the FID conference to China. Our strategy is to build
a strong presence with Chinese companies, through a local
presence and through international meetings such as FID,“
said Paul Semenza, Vice President for Display and Consumer
Electronics Research for iSuppli.
